NCEMPA Issues Request for Proposals

RALEIGH – North Carolina Eastern Municipal Power Agency (NCEMPA) is the full requirements supplier to 32 municipal utility members located within the Progress Energy Carolinas (PEC) service area.

NCEMPA has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for North Carolina Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs) to meet its obligation under the North Carolina Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard (REPS). The RFP is seeking SRECs produced by solar renewable facilities within the state of North Carolina. The SRECs must meet the requirements of North Carolina Session Law 2007-397 (Senate Bill 3). The RFP is seeking multi-year proposals for SRECs with production starting as early as 2010.

The Notice of Intent to Respond is due by 9/17/2010, and the Due Date for Proposals is 10/1/2010.
