NCMPA1 Issues RFP for Solar Renewable Energy Certificates

North Carolina Municipal Power Agency Number 1 (NCMPA1) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for North Carolina Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs) to meet its obligation under the North Carolina Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard (REPS).

The RFP is seeking SRECs produced by solar renewable facilities located within the state of North Carolina. The SRECs must meet the requirements of North Carolina Session Law 2007-397 (Senate Bill 3). The RFP is seeking multi-year proposals for an annual quantity of 1,500 to 2,000 SRECs with production starting in 2013.  NCMPA1 will accept proposals for SRECs generated from solar photovoltaic or solar thermal technologies

The Notice of Intent to Respond is due by July 18, 2011, and the Due Date for Proposals is August 1, 2011.
